FAQs - Dallas Pickleball Leagues

How early should I arrive for my session?

Arriving 15 minutes early is recommended! It gives you time to warm up, get situated, and meet your group to start your matches on time. Arriving early also means extra socializing 🍻

Can beginners and newer players join?

Absolutely! Our ladder system matches you with others at your skill level. Whether you’re still learning how to keep score or working on steady drops, you’ll find players who match your style. We also offer beginner intro sessions for our newbies!

How physical is league play?

League play is active, but manageable for most fitness levels! Sessions last one hour, and you can take short breaks between games if needed.

If you’re returning to exercise or easing into the sport, the ladder format helps you find matchups that fit your pace without feeling overwhelmed. You can make the league as social or competitive as you'd like!

Can I request to play at the same session time as a friend?

You’re welcome to sign up with a partner or a friend, but you’ll play in our league as an individual. We intentionally do not accept partner requests, as our leagues are designed for social play. We encourage you to try and meet new players! Maybe you'll meet your new favorite doubles players together!

How does the ladder format work?

Each week, you’ll play with a group at your level. You’ll play short games to 15 points, switching partners for each game. Based on your performance - you'll be reranked, and land on a new spot in the ladder at the right level for you.

Are lessons or classes included with the league?

The league itself is built around game play, but we do offer an intro sessions for new players for all leagues! This is included in the league, and will teach you the basics of pickleball. Many people learn quickly just by playing regularly, and a lot of our advanced players are great people willing to provide assistance if needed!

How do I know what skill level to choose?

When registering, pick the option that feels closest to how you currently play. Whether you’re playing for the first time or fall somewhere between intermediate and advanced, the ladder will place you at the right spot after the first week or so. Even if you are not placed perfectly at first, games settle in quickly. We can always make an adjustment to your rank, if needed.

Do you offer open play or drop-ins?

Right now, we focus on structured league play, so sign up for the season to join the fun! Many of the venues we play at also offer open play or court reservations, which you can organize separately if you’re looking to play pickleball outside of league nights.
