  • Our second Silly Pickles league in Portland, Oregon!
  • Location: The People's Courts (2700 NE 82nd Ave). The facility has indoor and outdoor courts but this league will be played on the indoor courts due to weather concerns.
  • Start date: 9/18.
  • Time: 8-11pm. You will get one hour of court time per night.
  • Anticipated end date: 11/6. The league will be 8 weeks of play. There is a chance we have to skip one week because of private events The People's Courts hosts but there will be a total of 8 league nights.
  • You can miss any number of league nights - your ranking will not be negatively impacted as long as you communicate to us that you cannot attend (we send a weekly email asking who is out the following week).

Structure of League

We have a dynamic ladder format to ensure skill-based matching. After signing up, you will fill out a survey to give us a sense of how good you are at pickleball. Skill level for this league ranges from DUPR 5.0 to people that have never played before (we will help teach you). We use self-reported ratings to put together initial rankings and the schedule for week 1 and then you will move up / down the ladder based on your results.

While you can sign up with friends, you will operate as an individual. Our overall goal is to provide competitive matches and for league members to meet new people in Portland!

League Nights

On a given night, you will play either 8-9pm, 9-10pm, or 10-11pm. We try to rotate time slots given most people prefer the earlier games. This league will have 48 players - the best 4 on a given night play together, the second best 4 play together, so on and so forth.

In your group of 4, you play a game to 15 points with each person (so 3 games total). After each night, you input your total points won (out of a possible 45 points). So, if you win two games and lose one 10-15, you would input 40 points. Top 2 in each group of 4 move up in the ladder (1st place more than 2nd) and the bottom two players move down in the ladder.
